Audio Cable
Initial release, 22 April, 1996

The above schematic shows the audio cable each WRTC-96 station used. It allows a standard method of monitoring and recording all audio, and provides output for both a speaker and headphones (simultaneously).
Resistors in the headphone jack allow use of either mono or stereo headphones without shorting the audio.

Last update: 1 February 1997
This page was intended to aclimate the competitors to the conditions normally experienced during this contest. Activity was up tremendously from normal because of all the publicity--all competitors made significantly more contacts than any of us anticipated! (Those distinctive 1x1 callsigns sure helped!).
Last update: Release 8, 30 May 1996.
For the 52 teams, fame and glory are their motovation. But what about the rest of us? You will earn all sorts of awards for contacting the competitors, including special awards for working a "sweep" (all 52 teams). See the (giant) list of winners, below.
NOTE: Portions of one competitor's log were lost. These QSOs are not included in the following list (I lost THREE contacts myself because of this...).
The competitor's logs are available on-line if you care to peruse them. Show me the logs!

FINAL RESULTS
Here are the final results from WRTC-1996
This whole week has been one of the most fantastic parties ham radio has ever seen. Too bad you all couldn't be here! Maybe in 2000 :-)

Thanks to N6TR for putting together the software that so quickly and accurately cross-checked all of the logs! N6AA drove this call-test software, assisted by N6ZZ, OH2MM, S50A, K6NA, K4VX, and K3EST. Thanks also to K2MM for rapidly distributing the results.
The following operators have been chosen to operate in the contest: WORLD RADIOSPORT TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP (WRTC-96) TEAMS.
Eleven competitors in this year's event, including Defending Champions K1AR and K1DG, are veterans of WRTC-90. Their callsigns are noted with asterisks in the competitors' listing:
WRTC-96 Rules
Updated 23 December 1996
These are the rules the 52 teams followed during WRTC-96. The "exhibition teams" were exempt from all rules and were not eligible for awards.
WRTC-96 will be held in conjunction with the IARU HF World Championship contest. The WRTC competitors will have a slightly different set of additional rules they must follow, however.
